This course will address the need for dignity for our patients and loved ones at the end-of-life. At the conclusion of this course participants will be able to:
- Understand the meaning and importance of dignity in life and death
- Describe factors that contribute to dignity at the end-of-life
- Utilize practices to enhance dignity for dying patients
We will examine current research into the experience of dignity for patients and learn best practices for caring for everyone with compassion and respect.
Your Instructor
Dr. Karen Wyatt lives in Silverthorne CO and is a family physician by training who spent many years of her medical career caring for hospice patients. She is the author of the book 7 Lessons for Living from the Dying. She also hosts the popular podcast End-of-Life University, where she interviews experts who work in all aspects of the end-of-life arena.
